Welcome to TimeforTalking
timefortalking provides employee counselling support (sometimes referred to as an Employee Assistance Programme or EAP) and post-critical incident programmes. Our reputation has been established over 12 years of working with individuals and groups in the public, voluntary and private sectors.
Our whole ethos is defined by certain core values built around respecting the individual and his or her beliefs. We do not claim to know "what is best" for the people we work with; we would not be so presumptuous. Instead, we look to sensitively explore what people want, how they want to go forward and what prevents them from doing so. We will always take time to see the world from an individual's viewpoint. In doing so, we truly appreciate the feelings, the confusions, the uncertainty and the complexity of each person.
The importance of dialogue
From our therapeutic experience, we know that people are able to change their behaviours and their perspective of the world around them. We are convinced of the effectiveness of dialogue as a way of resolving conflict, whether within a person or between people. By engaging in dialogue, people are better able to explore the ideas, beliefs and feelings that influence their interactions. They can achieve a new way of looking at things, or gain an insight into their own patterns of behaviour.
