Eating healthily is something that we all know provides many benefits in terms of our energy levels and how good we feel about ourselves. Our diet can also play a huge part in the prevention of many illnesses and diseases; cancer, heart disease and stroke to name a few.

Did you know that about a third of 13 of the most common cancers in the UK could be prevented through improved diet, physical activity and body weight? Different aspects of our diet can have a direct impact on helping to reduce our risk of major illnesses.


Preventative measures are far preferable to developing or recovering from a major illness. To reduce your bowel cancer risk, we’re advised to eat no more than 500g (cooked weight) per week of red meat, like beef, pork and lamb, and eating processed meats like ham, bacon and salami as little as possible.
